The Jetsons
Produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, The Jetsons originally aired on ABC, Sunday nights, from September 23, 1962 to March 3, 1963. The Jetsons lived in a future filled with robots, aliens or holograms. Set in sky-high Orbit City, the show presented the adventures of the family of George Jetson, Jane, his wife, their daughter Judy, and son Elroy. The show became more and more popular and its creators decided to produce further episodes between 1985 and 1987.
Following on the success, three films were produced: The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones (1987), Rockin' with Judy Jetson (1988) and Jetsons: The Movie (1990). Although no more episodes of the show are produced, Electra-Sol commercials still uses some of the characters for their commercials. A Jetsons Live-action movie is announced for 2009 and Danny DeVito is said to play one of the characters.
Husband of Jane, George is also the father of teenage daughter Judy and elementary school aged son Elroy. The family lives in the Skypad Apartments in Orbit City, a futuristic town with flying cars and robot servants. He works for Spacely's Space Sprockets, under the tyrannical Cosmo G. Spacely. Housekeeping was done by Rosie, the robot maid, while the family's dog, Astro, can only mumble phrases like "Ruh-roh!" and "Right, Reorge!".
