Foghorn Leghorn
Foghorn Leghorn was first seen in the cartoon Walky Talky Hawky that was released in 1946. After being nominated for an Oscar, the rooster got its own show directed by Robert McKimson. The first show was called Crowing Pains (1947) after which he appeared regularly during the 1940s and 1950s, his last appearance being in Banty Raids (1963).
Foghorn Leghorn's humor relied heavily on his voice, created by actor Mel Blanc, and that is why his popularity came only to be known in the cartoon industry. He only appeared in some small roles and occasional commercials. After Blanc died in 1989, many people know that Foghorn will never get the same success he once had.
He made an appearance in the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit and then, next to his Looney Tunes stars, in the 1996 movie Space Jam, starring Michael Jordan. Since then he has been seen in various commercials, some with Mike Jordan. Mel Blanc being passed away, Foghorn Leghorn will never get back to the same glory.
