The Ren and Stimpy Show
Created by Canadian animator John Kricfalusi, The Ren and Stimpy Show made its debut on Nickelodeon on August 11, 1991. The show included many jokes about bodily functions and exaggerated expressions. The jokes would usually involve involve hairballs, filthy litterboxes, jars of spit, eating dirt or other disgusting things.
Ren Höek, is the a neurotic asthmatic chihuahua, and Stimpson J. Cat (a.k.a. Stimpy), the fat red cat were created in 1979 as separate characters but Kricfalusi's co-worker Joel Fajnor had the idea of putting them together. In 1996, after Rugrats became popular, the show was canceled but it still airs sometimes on the Nicktoons channel.
Ren, the rat-like and hyperactive dog, often calls Stimpy an "eeediot" and gets irritated very easily. His long life dream is to have huge pectorals and intimidate others. His character was inspired after a postcard that depicted a chihuahua in a sweater. Stimpy is the no tale cat with a brain the size of a peanut. Although Ren often abuses him, he considers him his best friend. His famous catchphrase is "Oh, Joy!" or simply "Jooooooy".
