Tweety Bird
Directed by Bob Clampett, A Tale of Two Kitties from 1942 was the one that introduced Tweety to the audience. The bird had to defend itself from two cats, Babbit and Catstello. It didn't meet it most famous adversary but it did say its most famous phrase: "I tawt I taw a puddy tat". The 1947 movie Tweet Pie was the one that put the two together, Tweety Bird and Sylvester Pussycat.
The pairing of the two was one of the most famous in animation history. Every episode would follow certain guidelines. The cat wanted to eat the tiny bird but everytime he gets close, something or someone comes in his way: either obstacles, other cats or Hector the Bulldog, and the indignant Granny. Mel Blanc released a single with the two characters "I Taut I Taw A Puddy Tat."
Tweety had a small part in the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit, then was reunited with Sylvester in a show entitled The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries, in which they assisted Granny to solve mysteries. They also stared in the 1996 movie Space Jam, similar to the other Looney Tunes.
